4 Mar 2014 Bitcoincharts and SSL

Bitcoincharts is now forcing SSL on every connection. Unfortunately, there aren't many trustable CAs out there. Therefore I decided to use CAcert. CAcert is a community where members verify each other's identity. That means there have been a few dozen people who have met me in person and verified my personal ID documents. I think this fits Bitcoin very well as opposed to centralized CAs.

However, there's a slight problem. CAcert's Root Certificates aren't in included in browsers yet so your computer might warn you about connecting to an untrusted site. I'd kindly like ask you to consider installing CAcert's Root Certificates: https://www.cacert.org/index.php?id=3 This will allow your browser to verify the certificate chain and avoid the warning.

If this poses too much trouble for users (i.e. traffics drops considerably) I'll consider getting a "normal" SSL certificate.
